Rykerr is the only American bred dog to VA at both WDA and USA Sieger  Shows for two years running now! He was the USA Vice Sieger, VA2 which is the highest placement ever by an American bred dog.

Rykerr is a son of the famous Pitt v Tronje (VA7-BSZS) known to produce progeny with the most outstanding temperament in Germany.  Pitt not only throws exceptional males, but  has also sired VA females.

Fred Lanting, an expert on the GSD and one of only 2 conformation judges in North and South America  approved by the Schaferhund Verein, says of Pitt, "One of my favorite dogs is the large and hard Pitt v Tronje, VA7 this year, and very good in his bite-and-outs. He is a very good producer, also."  Mr. Lanting also tells us that Pitt's son, Rykerr is "a male to watch for."

In his critique of the 2000 Siegershow in Bremen, Mr. Lanting mentions "Last, but not least, we must mention John Henkel’s (the breeder) Rykerr v Wilhendorf, American-bred handsome son of Pitt, who was V-32 this year. If he has a good ZW number and hip rating, he should be considered for those who want to improve their lines without going to Germany."

Rykerr has produced very well. All his offspring are very good in type and all with very high drive. He has Pitt's incredible temperament for work and great expression for the ring, a trait that he also produces in his puppies!

Rykerr is a large, typey male with a very good croup. He is very correct in the front, with a very strong gait. He has a very free front reach and a very good top line. Rykerr has a very sure temperament, instinctive behavior, self-confidence and a pronounced ability to cope with stress. He is very good in bite work.

He resides in Milford, CT with his owners Steve and Valorie McMillan (Valoriedogs@aol.com)
